SSF in briefSSF (Svenska Stöldskyddsföreningen) is a non-profit association which was established in 1934 by the Swedish police and insurance companies. We do crime prevention work in a number of major fields: information, opinion forming, training, publishing, issuing standards, testing of security products, and consultancy. We operate a nationwide identification system for key tags and a barring service for credit and debit cards, mobile phones and other valuables. SSF also publishes the specialist journal S.O.S Skydd och Säkerhet. SSF’s certification operations are run by the company Svensk Brand- och Säkerhetscertifiering AB - SBSC.
The public can call our advice line free of charge for security tips. Every day, SSF’s free advice line receives calls from people wanting information about how to protect their homes, their businesses and their valuables. The advice given is based on the details of certified products in the Security Guide.
SSF’s goals: “The aim of the association is to promote security for individuals and property by crime prevention measures and to act as opinion-formers and disseminators of information in the work of crime prevention.”
